Agency: Russian airlines’ passenger traffic jumps ninefold in May
MOSCOW, Jun 10 (PRIME) -- The combined passenger traffic of Russian airlines jumped more than ninefold on the year to 8.78 million people in May from 951,400 people in May 2020, the Federal Air Transport Agency said on Friday citing operating data.
The passenger traffic of Aeroflot soared almost eightfold on the year to 1.61 million people in May, of S7 Airlines rose more than fivefold to 1.54 million people, and of Aeroflot’s low-cost subsidiary Pobeda amounted to 1.24 million passengers in May as compared with suspension of flights a year ago. The traffic of Ural Airlines soared to 760,900 passengers from around 41,800 people, and of Rossiya Airlines grew to 742,200 passengers from around 74,900 people.
In January–May, the combined passenger traffic of Russian airlines went down 27% on the year to 16.97 million people.
